There aren't many comic strips about those poor maligned individuals who referee football matches. But the Hotspur did publish one series about Sid Ross, a World Cup referee. This series sees the man in the middle as the hero and some of the unsporting players and extreme fans getting their come-uppance. The refs getting their own back, you could say.

Forget about supporting a national team this World Cup, support the referees.
